The biggest problem facing technology in the classroom is money. I have a smartboard and a classroom set of CPS (classroom proformance system). I had to raise the money myself. With the focus on improving education it seems that the government would put more money on improving technologies access to the students.
One problem I have is that all students do not have access to a computer when they leave school. I would like to have assignments on the web for my students. I would also like to be available on line for help on homework assignments. A lot of students do not have help with certain subjects when they get home. This is a problem that could be resolved if the students could talk to their instructor or other students when they were working on their homework assignment.
Lots to things to think about. Would love to have input from others.

Internet era- the internet has in my opinion made the greatest contribution to the world of technology. It has allowed people to connect to people all across the world in matters of seconds. It allows you to download large files and even store data so that it can be accessed on other computers outside your system. It has opened great opportunity for stores and the consumer to be able to buy at home without leaving their home. I could go on and on about the benefit of today’s internet.
Computer systems are changing every time you turn around. I remember the first computers in the classroom. It was an Apple and the biggest thing was writing programs to make the computer do elementary type problems and typing. Now students can receive instructions through the computer along with research. Teachers can use the computer to present instruction and enhance their lessons.
Student can now take vocational training in technology to prepare for their career choice. They can also get an on hands experience in the field of technology.
Technology has proven to be so helpful but it has its problems in the educational environment. Technology changes so much that teachers cannot stay current. The cost of technology has grown to a point that most schools computer labs are 5 years behind. The access to technology is limited in most schools. For I have to have fund raisers to buy things for my classroom that can help improve the use of technology for my students.
